Blackwell Holdings B.V., doing business as Ridezee, is a company organized under the laws of Sint Maarten.
This Privacy Policy explains how Ridezee collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information through:
- The Ridezee rider application.
- The Ridezee driver application.
- Ridezee websites and web booking services.
- Ridezee kiosks and partner booking interfaces.
- Payment, communications, customer support and safety features.
- Services offered through participating hotels, resorts, tourism organizations and transportation partners.
This Policy applies to riders, drivers, transportation providers, applicants, website visitors, partner representatives and other individuals interacting with Ridezee.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how a person uses Ridezee, we may collect:
- Account information, including name, telephone number, email address, login information, profile photograph, language and account preferences.
- Driver information, including identification, date of birth, photograph, driver credentials, transportation permits, vehicle information, registration, inspection records, insurance, banking, payout and tax information.
- Trip information, including pickup, destination, date, time, route, distance, duration, vehicle category, matched rider and driver, fare, fees, payment status, cancellation details and trip instructions.
- Precise location information connected with ride requests, driver availability, matching, pickup, active trips, navigation, trip sharing, support and safety features.
- Payment information, including payment type, masked card information, processor token, transaction number, amount, currency, authorization status, refund status and chargeback information.
- Ridezee does not retain complete payment card numbers and card security codes. Complete card credentials are handled by the applicable bank and payment processor.
- Device and usage information, including Internet Protocol address, device type, device identifiers, operating system, application version, browser, language, mobile network, notification token, crash data, diagnostic information, security events and platform activity.
- Communications, including in-app messages, emails, support requests, telephone communications, text messages, complaints, incident reports, lost property requests and related metadata.
- Ratings, reviews, survey responses, photographs and information voluntarily provided to Ridezee.
- Optional emergency contacts selected through an SOS, trip sharing and similar safety feature.
- Safety audio recordings and related consent, device, trip, location, start and stop information when the recording feature is lawfully activated.
- Cookies, local storage, software development kits, pixels and similar technologies described in the Cookie Policy.
3. How Information Is Collected
Ridezee may receive information:
- Directly from riders and drivers.
- Automatically through websites, applications and devices.
- From transportation providers.
- From hotels, resorts, employers, travel organizers and authorized booking partners.
- From banks and payment processors.
- From mapping, communications, hosting, verification, fraud detection and support providers.
- From government, licensing and publicly available records when legally permitted.
- From a person who books a ride, identifies an emergency contact and provides information concerning another person.
4. How Information Is Used
Ridezee may process personal information to:
- Create, verify and secure accounts.
- Receive, match and administer transportation requests.
- Display driver arrival, trip status and route information.
- Facilitate communications between riders and transportation providers.
- Calculate fares, fees, discounts, refunds and payment adjustments.
- Process rider payments and driver payouts.
- Generate receipts and transaction records.
- Provide customer support.
- Review complaints, lost property, accidents, disputes and safety reports.
- Verify identity, driver eligibility, permits, vehicles and insurance.
- Detect fraud, account misuse, unauthorized activity and violations of Ridezee policies.
- Operate SOS, trip sharing and safety recording features.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and improve the Ridezee platform.
- Send booking confirmations, receipts, account alerts, safety notices and policy updates.
- Send marketing communications where legally permitted.
- Comply with legal, tax, accounting, insurance, licensing and regulatory obligations.
- Establish, exercise and defend legal claims.
- Protect riders, drivers, Ridezee personnel and members of the public.
5. Precise Location Information
Location information is required for many Ridezee functions.
Ridezee may collect a rider’s precise location when:
- The rider application is open.
- A pickup point is selected.
- A ride is requested.
- Ridezee searches for an available driver.
- A driver approaches the pickup point.
- A trip is active.
- An SOS, trip sharing and safety feature is activated.
The driver application may collect a driver’s location while the driver is online, receiving requests, approaching a pickup point and completing an active trip.
With the required device permission, driver location may be collected in the background while the driver is online.
Relevant location and trip status may be shared between the matched rider and transportation provider.
Device location permissions can be changed through device settings. Disabling location may limit Ridezee functionality. Completed trip records may continue to contain pickup, destination, route and distance information.
Ridezee policy prohibits using precise trip location for cross context behavioral advertising.
6. Safety Audio Recording
Ridezee may offer an optional safety audio recording feature in selected markets and application versions.
Where the feature is available:
- A driver may request recording through the approved driver application.
- The rider will receive a separate recording notice and consent request on the rider’s device.
- Acceptance of general Ridezee Terms is not consent for a specific trip recording.
- Recording may begin only after the required notices and affirmative consents have been completed.
- The approved driver phone will capture the audio.
- The applications will display a clear recording indicator.
- Every competent adult passenger must receive notice and provide any consent required by applicable law.
- A rider may decline and may withdraw consent.
- Ridezee may restrict and disable recording in any jurisdiction where legal and operational requirements have not been satisfied.
A safety recording may include:
- Voices and sounds within the vehicle.
- Trip and account identifiers.
- Recording date, time and duration.
- Location associated with the trip.
- Recording activation and termination events.
- Device and application information.
- Records of the notice displayed and the consent decision.
- Complaints, incident reports and support information connected with the recording.
Ridezee may use recordings to:
- Review reported safety incidents.
- Investigate rider and driver complaints.
- Address disputes concerning conduct during a trip.
- Enforce Ridezee Terms, Guidelines and safety standards.
- Address fraud and platform misuse.
- Support insurance and legal claims.
- Respond to legally valid requests from courts, regulators and law enforcement.
- Protect the rights and physical safety of riders, drivers and members of the public.
Access will be limited to authorized Ridezee personnel, approved service providers, professional advisers and legally authorized recipients with a legitimate need.
Ridezee safety recordings are not intended for advertising, entertainment, public posting and biometric voice identification.
Unless expressly disclosed in the trip specific notice, recordings are not monitored live. The recording feature is not an emergency response service.
Ridezee retains routine safety recordings only for the period reasonably required to operate the feature and fulfill the purposes described in this Policy.
A recording may be retained longer when connected with an incident, complaint, payment dispute, insurance matter, legal claim, government request, regulatory requirement and documented legal hold.
Withdrawal of consent does not invalidate processing completed before withdrawal. Deletion may be restricted when continued retention is legally permitted and reasonably necessary to protect another person’s rights, investigate an incident and comply with legal obligations.
7. Emergency Contacts and SOS Features
When a user voluntarily activates an SOS, emergency contact and trip sharing feature, Ridezee may process the selected contact information and related trip information.
Users must have authority to provide another person’s information and must give any notice required by applicable law.
8. How Information Is Disclosed
Ridezee may disclose personal information:
- Between a rider and the transportation provider assigned to the trip.
- With a person and organization that arranged an authorized booking.
- With hosting, mapping, payment, communications, identity verification, fraud detection, customer support and recording service providers.
- With authorized local operating and transportation partners when needed to administer a market and requested trip.
- With professional advisers, accountants, auditors and insurers.
- With emergency responders and authorities when legally permitted and reasonably necessary.
- To comply with applicable law, court proceedings and legally valid government requests.
- To investigate fraud, unlawful activity, safety incidents and policy violations.
- In connection with a merger, financing, restructuring and sale of the relevant business, subject to applicable protections.
- At the user’s direction and with the user’s authorization.
Information shared with riders may include the assigned driver’s name, photograph, vehicle, license plate, rating, estimated arrival and relevant location.
Information shared with drivers may include the rider’s name, profile photograph, pickup, destination, contact method and trip instructions.
Ridezee policy prohibits selling personal and sensitive information obtained through the applications for monetary consideration.
9. Legal Bases
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, Ridezee may rely on:
- Performance of a contract, including arranging and administering requested transportation.
- Consent, including optional recording, emergency contacts, marketing and nonessential cookies.
- Legitimate business interests, including platform security, support, service improvement, fraud review and enforcement.
- Compliance with legal obligations.
- Protection of a person’s vital interests and physical safety.
Consent may be withdrawn. Withdrawal does not invalidate lawful processing completed before withdrawal.
10. International and Inter Island Transfers
Ridezee operates across multiple island markets and may use providers located in other countries.
Information may be processed outside the market where it was collected. Where applicable law requires transfer safeguards, Ridezee will use a legally recognized transfer mechanism and contractual protection.
11. Retention
Ridezee retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for:
- Providing the requested services.
- Maintaining an active account.
- Tax, accounting, payment, licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Fraud and security review.
- Safety investigations.
- Pending complaints, disputes and legal proceedings.
- Applicable limitation periods.
- Completing ordinary backup deletion cycles.
Information may be deidentified and retained when it no longer reasonably identifies an individual.
12. Data Security
Ridezee uses administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration and disclosure.
No electronic system is completely secure. Users must protect their login credentials and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.
Ridezee will provide legally required notices concerning qualifying personal data breaches.
13. User Choices and Privacy Rights
Depending on applicable law, a person may have the right to:
- Ask whether Ridezee processes their information.
- Request access.
- Request correction.
- Request deletion, blocking and restriction in qualifying circumstances.
- Object to certain processing.
- Object to direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent.
- Request a portable copy where applicable.
- Request information about the purposes, sources and recipients of processing.
- Submit a complaint to the competent privacy authority.
Requests may be submitted to info@ridezee.com with the subject “Privacy Request.”
Ridezee may verify the requester’s identity and authority. Certain information may be retained when legally permitted for safety, fraud prevention, accounting, dispute resolution and legal claims.
14. Account Deletion
Users may request account deletion through the application and the Ridezee Account Deletion page.
Closing an account does not erase completed payment records, outstanding obligations, safety evidence and information Ridezee must retain under applicable law.
15. Children and Minors
A person must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a contract to create a Ridezee rider account.
A minor may travel only through an adult’s authorized booking and supervision unless Ridezee expressly launches a legally approved program for unaccompanied minors in that market.
16. Communication Preferences
Marketing messages may be stopped through the unsubscribe method provided.
Eligible SMS messages may be stopped by replying STOP.
Service communications, including booking confirmations, receipts, security notices and safety communications, may continue through available channels while an account remains active.
17. Third Party Services
Banks, payment processors, map providers, app stores and other independent services may process information under their own privacy policies.
Ridezee is not responsible for independent processing outside Ridezee’s direction.
18. Policy Changes
Ridezee may update this Policy to reflect service, technology, business and legal changes.
The updated version will display a revised date. Additional notice will be provided when required by applicable law.
